4 Days Singapore: Family Trip

IMG_8431n.jpg

Thanks to the flight promo by Singapore Airlines (through our MasterCard), we were able to book cheap round trip flights to Singapore. Our first family trip (6 people) outside the country!

Our trip was for 4 days and 4 nights. In a nutshell:

Day 0: Arrival at Singapore (evening)

Day 1: City Tour via Hop On Hop Off + SkyPark at Marina Bay Sands

Day 2: Universal Studios

Day 3: Singapore Zoo

Day 4: Gardens by the Bay + Flight back to the Philippines

Arrival at Changi Airport

I should say, Changi is a very beautiful airport. There are a lot of shops, restaurants, and different exhibits. No wonder it is one of the best in the whole world.

DAY 1: City Tour via Big Bus Tour Hop On Hop Off + SkyPark at Marina Bay Sands

I have always trusted Hop On Hop Off Tours whenever touring another country. It is a very convenient, and probably the cheapest way to see all the highlight destinations a place has to offer. For Singapore, we got tickets at Duck&Hippo Tours via our hotel at only S$33 which will include routes for the City, Heritage, and Original Tours. A day of hopping on and off the bus was barely enough to see everything! For more info about the tours (route map, freebies, and attractions that can be seen) and online tickets, go to their website Duck&Hippo OpenTop Bus Tours.

On our stop at the Fountain of Fortune, we took a detour to visit Alive Museum, a 3D art museum in Singapore. We bought our tickets online together with our Gardens by the Bay tickets, which was a package for US$36 only! Check out this site to avail the package: ALIVE MUSEUM & GARDENS BY THE BAY COMBO

After completing all the 3 routes, we stopped at Marina Sands Bay for the SkyPark Observation Deck. Singapore had amazing city lights so this must definitely be in everyone’s itinerary when visiting Singapore! We paid S$23 each at the SkyPark reception, and was immediately greeted by a long line of tourists wishing to go up the SkyPark! My tip ould be to arrive there early to avoid the volume of tourists.

We also availed a souvenir family photo at S$99!

DAY 2: Universal Studios

We booked our Universal Studio tickets online through the Resorts World Sentosa website to avail of the 10% discount when using a MasterCard. From an all-day adult pass of S$74 each, we got ours for only S$67! The park is open daily from 10AM – 8PM while the booths are open from 9AM- 8PM.

We had so much fun! The long lines were annoying and uncomfortable but once our turn was up, all the bad vibes  are forgotten!

DAY 3: Singapore Zoo

We spent an entire day at the zoo and learned loads especially about those animals that can’t be seen in the Philippines. Truly informative! Their tram rides ere especially helpful to get from one part of the zoo to another.

The Singapore Zoo is open daily from 8:30AM – 6PM at S$35 each for adult tickets and S$22 for children.

The Singapore Zoo is located at 80 Mandai Lake Road, a taxi ride away from the city center.

DAY 4: Gardens by the Bay and Flight Back to Manila

On our last day at Singapore, we visited the Gardens by the Bay. As mentioned earlier, we got our tickets online as a package with the Alive Museum tickets: ALIVE MUSEUM & GARDENS BY THE BAY COMBO.

Since we visited during the morning, we weren’t able to see the outdoor gardens (Super trees!) with their magnificent lights. But it was still impressive!

The 2 popular conservatories, Cloud Forest and Flower Dome, didn’t disappoint. It was more beautiful than any pictures I saw online! My mother loved it so much, with all the pretty flowers, arts, and plants!

We visited and toured Gardens by the Bay for approximately 3-4hours then went back to our hotel, checked-out, and went to the airport to catch our flight back home.

All in all, we had so much fun touring Singapore. For a family of 6, we spent approximately PHP100k for our whole 4 days and 4 nights stay in Singapore. Not bad for a known expensive country compared to its neighboring country Malaysia. Perfect for a family trip!
